The Chair-Shiatsu Certificate Course - Start with Your Shiatsu Journey!
Course Description
The Chair-Shiatsu Certificate Course is delivered for 3.5 weeks to complete (63 hours). The shortest and good way to start with Shiatsu journey or for manual therapists to have as an add-on. Students learn Shiatsu theory, Self-Shiatsu and 10/20-min Chair-Shiatsu treatment. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate which is transferable to the Clinical Shiatsu Therapy with Spa Massage Diploma program and The Shiatsu Foundation Certificate Course.

Curriculum
Basic Theory
- Basic Shiatsu concepts are studied including such subjects as
Characteristics of Shiatsu, Shiatsu and Physiological Functions,
Operations of the hands and fingers, kinds of pressure application, and
contraindications to Shiatsu.
Self Shiatsu
- Self-administered Shiatsu teaches the student basic use of the hands,
correct pressure application methods and all the basic pressure points.
This is good for health-conditioning.
Chair Shiatsu - The students practise 10-min and 20-min Chair Shiatsu Treatment on each others.
Admissions Policy
Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy is committed to enrolling students who meet all of our program admission criteria and who are likely to succeed in meeting their education and career goals.
Minimum Requirements
If the applicant fails to meet the minimum admission requirements,
neither the School nor the Applicant may waive the requirement that the
applicant must be nineteen years of age or older to be accepted into
the Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy.
Step-by-Step Registration Procedures
a) Interview with the Administrator.
b) Fill out and submit the Application Form with a $100.00 Application
Fee. The fee will be applied to the tuition fees upon acceptance or
returned to you if your application is not approved.
d) The Student and the School's Representative (Signing Officer) sign the Enrolment Contract.
e) Payment of tuition.
Student Enrolment Policy
a) The Student must sign two Enrolment Contracts - one for the Student and one for the School.
b) The Student must read and understand the School Policy before signing the Enrolment Contract.
c) The Student must submit all required items before signing the Enrolment Contract.
Language Proficiency Assessment Policy
a)
Students must speak, write and comprehend English at a high
intermediate level, sufficient to enough complete the courses
undertaken.
b) The registrar will see the history of the
student's English wrinting skill and as well as speaking and listening
skills from the interview by the administrator which is set up by the
school.
c) The check sheet of student's English skill will be stored in his/her student file.
Withdrawal Policy
a) The student must provide written notice to the school when withdrawing.
b) The school shall provide written notice to the student in case of
dismissal. The school shall not be responsible for refunding more than
has been collected to the date of withdrawal or dismissal if the total
fees have not yet been collected.
Extension Policy
a) Students enrolled in Certificate Programs have a maximum of one (1) year to complete all applicable subjects.

Additional Fee** $136.50 = 2 weeks prior to starting date (Tax inc.)
- Uniform, equipment, clinical report file, handout, student record and PTIB register fee are included in additional fee.
- Textbooks are not included in the additional fee.
- Textbooks are separately purchased by the student.
- A list of the required textbooks is available upon enrolment.
- As we are approved by the Ministry of Human Resources Development Canada as a certified educational institution, our students may qualify for a tuition tax credit.

All costs are in Canadian Funds
All fees listed are subject to change without notice. If the fees
should increase then the students are required to pay the increased
fees.

Students are required to do homework (Directed by Independent Study of 1.5 hours per class)
Class Size
The Course has a minimum and a maximum student enrolment in order to ensure ample individual instruction when required.
